INTERFAITH MINISTRIES FOR GREATER HOUSTON TO RAISE FUNDS FOR REFUGEES AT FOR ALL HUMANITY LUNCHEON
Islamic Relief USA will be honored
HOUSTON (Sept. 3, 2019) – Interfaith Ministries for Greater Houston (Interfaith Ministries) will host its annual For All Humanity Luncheon on Tuesday, October 15, at the Junior League of Houston. Tickets and sponsorship opportunities are now available. The event benefits Interfaith Ministries’ Refugee Services programs.
With a theme of Empowering Women, the luncheon will honor Islamic Relief USA with the 2019 Humanitarian of the Year Award for being the lead sponsor of Interfaith Ministries’ Refugee Women’s Empowerment Group. Indrani Goradia, founder of Indrani’s Light Foundation, will provide the keynote address.
The Women’s Empowerment Group is designed to prevent isolation, build community, and equip Refugee women with the emotional, cultural, and entrepreneurial support they need to begin a new life in the United States. Activities include monthly meetings, speakers, classes and recreation, on topics ranging from health and fitness to parenting, local resources, employment, small business opportunities and more.

As part of their work, Islamic Relief USA has provided generous support to Refugee Services and Interfaith Relations at Interfaith Ministries, serving as lead sponsor for the Women’s Empowerment Group, providing relief for refugees impacted by Hurricane Harvey, and promoting community building by sponsoring the Interfaith Dinner Dialogue series.
