In November, Elmer Ledesma, Chemistry professor at the University of St. Thomas, will speak on distinguishing real science from “fake news”. Science is how we understand the world we live in, so good science is of paramount importance. But, often real science is debased in favor of science fiction to support a particular agenda. Learn the various propaganda techniques leveraged by influence peddlers hawking fake science. Examples from past and current propaganda campaigns will be given, from the tobacco industry to climate change. And, learn where to go for credible science information. Please register for this talk.
