Washington Redskins NFL running back Adrian Peterson and his wife Ashley have made a generous gift of $50,000 to Interfaith Ministries for Greater Houston’s Meals on Wheels program during the COVID-19 outbreak. Mr. Peterson wanted to make the gift on his birthday and was inspired by the memory of Ashley’s grandfather, who had been a Meals on Wheels recipient.

“This gift comes at a time when our resources are stretched to the limit,” stated Interfaith Ministries Chief Development Officer Maria Magee. “We are doing all we can to ensure the over 4,300 homebound seniors we serve have access to nutritious food and social support during this challenging time.”

The A&A Peterson Family Foundation’s mission is to improve quality of life through resources and economic development, as well as transform communities through educational and economical empowerment. The Petersons’ gift comes during national Meals on Wheels Community Champions Week – a time when community leaders raise awareness for this important program.
