HOUSTON  (December 6, 2016) - Interfaith Ministries for Greater Houston (IM) is asking the public’s help to fill its nearly empty shelves of dog food needed to feed homebound seniors’ pups.

IM’s aniMeals on Wheels program was founded so seniors on its Meals on Wheels for Greater Houston program would not feel compelled to share their limited food and resources with their four-legged friends. Research shows these pets can go a long way toward improving a senior’s health and happiness.

Each month, IM distributes nearly 9,000 pounds of wet and dry pet food to feed the beloved pets of more than 600 seniors. While the need for donations remains high throughout the year, donations are particularly needed right now.

The public is invited to drop off dog food from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. weekdays at IM’s Meals on Wheels building, 3202 San Jacinto Street, Houston, TX 77002
