Volunteer drivers are needed for Meals on Wheels food deliveries

HOUSTON (February 18, 2020)Interfaith Ministries for Greater Houston (Interfaith Ministries) is hosting Operation IMpact 2020 on Saturday, May 2 from 8 a.m. to noon at distribution centers located in Harris County and Galveston County. Operation IMpact volunteers will be delivering shelf-stable meals to 4,400 homebound seniors in preparation for hurricane season.

Volunteer drivers are needed to deliver emergency meals to Meals on Wheels seniors.  In addition to shelf-stable meals, seniors will receive emergency kits filled with an assortment of items including but not limited to a document bag, pens, notepads, emergency action wheel, and emergency contact information.

Operation IMpact sponsors include an anonymous Harris County sponsor, Kroger as the Midtown Houston site sponsor, and Moody Bank as a route sponsor. Partners include Harris County Office of Homeland Security & Emergency Management, Harris County Area Agency on Aging and the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services.
