With summer temperatures on the rise, IM is partnering with TXU Energy to host a Beat the Heat “Fan4Fan” drive. On June 20, Houstonians are invited to donate a new box fan to help IM’s at-risk Meals on Wheels clients stay cool and avoid heat-related emergencies. For each donated fan or $20 online donation to IM, TXU Energy will also contribute a fan – or simply, “Fan4Fan.”

Houstonians can also donate fans by visiting IM’s wish list on Amazon.com and ship fans to Interfaith Ministries, 3202 San Jacinto St., Houston TX 77004.

Fan donors, along with IM clients, will also receive heat safety awareness and energy efficiency tips. The fans will be distributed through IM’s Meals on Wheels for Greater Houston and Galveston County programs, which provide more than 1.5 million home-delivered meals each year to seniors, veterans and disabled adults.

The “Fan4Fan” drive is part of the 20th anniversary of TXU Energy’s Beat the Heat program. Through this initiative, the company has partnered with community service agencies across Texas to help thousands of consumers avoid heat-related emergencies and manage their energy consumption.
