As we all know, hurricanes inflict great pain in our community and in communities across the Gulf Coast Region. While we were fortunate not to feel the direct pain of Hurricane Laura, our neighbors in East Texas and in Louisiana were a direct hit for the hurricane’s fury. One of the ways that we make it through these storms, is to lend a hand, a shoulder and a heart to others in the aftermath of a storm. Today, we are asking you to help again by donating supplies, nonperishable food, fans and more as part of the Mayor’s Health Equity Task Force.

The details of the drive are noted below. You may drop off any donations at the George R. Brown Convention Center (Exhibit Hall D) or at any friendly Kroger Store.

Volunteers are needed at the George R. Brown to help sort and package supplies. If you are interested, please visit Volunteer Houston to join the team. Thank you for doing your part to help those affected by Hurricane Laura. Won’t you bring some nonperishable food or water today?
