About Interfaith Ministries’ Meals on Wheels Thanksgiving

Interfaith Ministries’ Meals on Wheels Thanksgiving is an annual community -wide event hosted on Thanksgiving morning to help feed homebound seniors in the Greater Houston/Galveston area.  This Thanksgiving, more than ever, homebound seniors need your help. We are asking for your help to deliver meals to homebound seniors and raise $65,000 to provide 13,000 meals to seniors in need this Thanksgiving and beyond. For every $5 you give or help fundraise, Meals on Wheels can provide one senior with a holiday meal.

Here are some ways you can help homebound seniors this year:

  1. Register to volunteer-deliver meals to seniors’ homes or work at the distribution site.
  2. Sign-up to fundraise or donate funds to provide senior holiday meals. For just $25, you can ensure 5 homebound seniors receive a meal this Thanksgiving.

It only takes a few minutes to provide hope to a senior struggling with hunger. No senior should ever be hungry, but especially not on Thanksgiving!

About this year’s event

Interfaith Ministries has partnered with the community for over 25 years to provide holiday meals to homebound seniors. This year’s event will be held at two locations!

First Presbyterian Church, North Parking Lot, 5300 Main Street Houston, TX 77004.

Wayne Johnson Community Center, 4102 Main Street, LaMarque, TX 77568 for Galveston County.

For volunteer delivery vehicle drivers, meal and route pick up will begin at 9am. All unclaimed routes will be given away to other volunteers at 10am. If you are volunteering at the distribution site, you will receive more instructions via email as the event approaches. Please see our FAQ page for more.

We will also be collecting pet food for our Animeals program at the event! If you are able, please bring dog or cat food for the pets of our Meals on Wheels seniors, too.

Thank you for caring about Houston’s homebound seniors!
