About Interfaith Ministries’ Meals on Wheels Thanksgiving

Interfaith Ministries’ Meals on Wheels Thanksgiving is an annual community -wide event hosted on Thanksgiving morning to help feed homebound seniors in the Greater Houston/Galveston area.  This Thanksgiving, more than ever, homebound seniors need your help. We must raise $65,000 to provide meals to 4,400 seniors in need this Thanksgiving and beyond.

Neighbors helping Neighbors

Our friend and partner in serving the community, Houston Food Bank, has suffered a devastating loss of food just before Thanksgiving. You can read more about the crisis here: https://www.khou.com/article/life/food/ammonia-leak-at-houston-food-bank-spoils-more-than-18-million-pounds-of-food/285-30533fd5-cc21-47e3-a2fe-951acc9d5aa6

We at Interfaith Ministries would like to help the Houston Food Bank at our 2019 Meals on Wheels Thanksgiving. We are asking all volunteers that day to bring at least one can of food to help replenish the Houston Food Bank’s shelves. There will be designated donation bins at our Houston site.

About this year’s event

We will also be collecting pet food for our Animeals program at the event! If you are able, please bring dog or cat food for the pets of our Meals on Wheels seniors, too.
