HOUSTON (September 12, 2019)Volunteer Houston, a program of Interfaith Ministries for Greater Houston (Interfaith Ministries), and Dow are partnering on local service projects throughout Houston for Dow’s EMERGE 2019 Day of Service on Friday, September 13.

EMERGE is Dow’s annual Employee Resource Group (ERG) conference, bringing together more than 400 employees from 30 countries and diverse job roles, functions and businesses in Houston, Texas. The highly interactive event focuses on building a culture of inclusion and emerging the role of ERGs as true business partners and change agents to advance the business strategy of Dow and enable inclusion around the world.

“Volunteer Houston is honored to work with Dow through our Corporate Volunteer Program to create a customized volunteer experience around causes that align with Dow’s organizational values while meeting real needs in the community,” said Eleanor Gates, director of Volunteer Houston.

“At EMERGE we look to activate our employees – cultivating inclusive mindsets, sparking passion for positive change, and connecting through service to address community challenges,” said Alveda Williams, Dow corporate director of Inclusion and HR director for Talent. “Partnering with Volunteer Houston and leveraging their expertise and local connections has enabled us to seamlessly engage our employees to uncover their passion, transform it into purpose and make a difference through volunteer service across the city.”
