Comunity Emergency Medication Centers

Ready Houston!, in conjunction with the City of Houston Office of Public Health Preparedness, is conducting citywide training sessions
to train volunteers to assist public health officials during a large-scale public health emergency.

As part of the City of Houston Emergency Management Plan, The City of Houston Office of Public Health Preparedness has developed a plan to ensure that all Houston residents have the opportunity to receive lifesaving medications or vaccines in the event of a large-scale public health emergency.

Central to this plan is the Community Emergency Medication Center. These Centers, staffed by medical professionals and trained community volunteers will distribute the medications or vaccines, to all residents, in the event of a public health emergency.
