Volunteer or donate pet food to AniMeals on Wheels. Routes take less than 2 hours, the impression will last a lifetime.

AniMeals on Wheels needs volunteers
Pets provide great companionship, especially for persons who are homebound and like their owners, the pet companions of our Meals on Wheels recipients are in need of ongoing nutrition assistance. In an effort to help seniors maintain their independence and assist them as they care for their best friend, Meals on Wheels for Greater Houston has launched a new program to provide donated pet food to the pets of Houston area Meals on Wheels recipients. Volunteers are needed to help us deliver pet food to homebound seniors once a month. Deliveries will take no longer that 1 1/2 - 2 hours.

Want to Help? Sign up for a route, donate dog or cat food at the IM offices, 3217 Montrose @ Westheimer, or conduct a pet food drive in your community.

More opportunities to work with seniors

  • Deliver Meals on Wheels on Thanksgiving Morning
  • Deliver groceries for our Food for Seniors Project
  • Organize a children's group to make birthday or holiday cards for seniors
  • Make place mats, holiday & birthday cards, lap quilts or gifts bags
  • Purchase prepared meals from IM's Project Dine for homebound members of your school, business or congregation
  • Assist with loading Food for Seniors boxes on the 3rd Saturday of the month
  • Deliver Pet Food to pet companions of Meals on Wheels seniors
