VITAL CONVERSATIONS WITH OUR COMMUNITY

Vital Conversations – A History

Conversation is the catalyst for change, which was the founding idea for Vital Conversations as part of The Dialogue Project. Developed in 2020 by Interfaith Relations & Community Partnerships after the murder of George Floyd, the inaugural conversation which aired on Junteenth, featured a dialogue with the “Three Amigos”, Archbishop Joseph A. Fiorenza, Rev. William A. Lawson, and the late Rabbi Samuel E. Karff was a moving summary of the work of these three men, the friendship that has supported them, and the vision that inspired them.

Vital Conversation seeks to create opportunities that encourage people to explore their understanding and attitudes about people of different races, ethnicities, faiths, cultures, and national origins within their local community. This program stands as an antidote to the climate of mistrust, conflict and intolerance, suspicion impacting communities across our country and strives to foster communication, understanding and respect.
