IM Faith Tours

"There will be peace on earth when there is peace among the world religions. No future for the planet without world peace; no world peace without peace between the nations; no peace between the nations without peace between religions; no peace between religions without religious dialogue."
-- Hans Kung

Faith tours provide a "window" into the diverse landscape of religious traditions represented in the Houston faith community. The faith tours are part of The Amazing Faiths Project in Houston, TX.

Each tour provides an opportunity to visit religious sites to learn general information about the faith tradition, the architecture of the building, and the members of each community. Participants will meet people from other faith traditions. A primary goal of the faith tours is to highlight the similarities in the world's religions and to respectfully discuss the differences between traditions. The tours conclude at Rothko Chapel with a discussion about the participants' experiences during the faith tour.

People of all ages, faith traditions, and those of no faith are welcome and encouraged to participate. Transportation to the sites is provided.

Register early! We hope to see you soon!

Our next Faith Tour is Sunday, August 24, 2008 from 12:30pm-5:00pm. We will visit the Hindu BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir and The Chung-Mei Buddhist Temple. Buses will leave from Interfaith Ministries located at 3217 Montrose Blvd, Houston, TX 77006. Please call 713.533.4904 to register by August 22nd.
